MES System Engineer
Join our MES Engineering team in Visp, Switzerland, where you will maintain, govern, and continuously optimize state-of-the-art MES standards, system architectures, and electronic batch records to drive operational excellence in a high-tech biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Working at the intersection of automation, IT, and manufacturing operations, you will lead system integrations, troubleshoot operational challenges, ensure full GxP compliance, and implement digital initiatives that directly enable the production of life-saving medicines.
This is a fully site‑based role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

What you will do:
Directly support the digital transformation of critical pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing operations.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Automation, IT, Validation, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to implement and scale MES solutions.
Maintain, govern, and continuously improve MES standards, templates, system architectures, and best practices across the site.
Provide hands-on technical support for MES operations, including troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and incident resolution.
Ensure full GxP and GMP compliance for electronic batch records (eBR) and manufacturing workflows.
Lead system integration activities between MES, automation platforms, historians, and ERP systems.
Drive continuous improvement by analyzing manufacturing processes and identifying opportunities for standardization and optimization.
What we are looking for:
Degree in Automation Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Proven experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) such as PAS-X, Syncade, PharmaSuite, Opcenter, or similar platforms within a GMP-regulated life sciences environment.
Strong knowledge of IT/OT manufacturing architectures, industrial networking, server environments, and virtualization (VMware).
Solid understanding of system integration concepts (MES to ERP, historians, and automation platforms).
Hands-on familiarity with GAMP, GMP, computerized system validation (CSV), data integrity, and change control processes.
High attention to system reliability, data integrity, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance.
Professional fluency in English and/or German.
