Are you an engineer or IT professional eager to bridge the gap between Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT)? Join our team in Visp as an EI&C Software Application Engineer, where you will develop, integrate, and maintain software solutions that directly power cutting-edge pharmaceutical manufacturing.

This is a fully site‑based role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

What you will do:

  • Drive digital connectivity by designing, implementing, and integrating software solutions that link industrial control systems (DCS, MES, historians) with core database systems.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional Automation, Manufacturing, Validation, Quality, and IT teams across the project lifecycle.

  • Develop, configure, and maintain automation and manufacturing applications using VBA, PowerShell, C#, and SQL in a Git-version-controlled environment.

  • Create engineering, software design, and functional specifications compliant with GxP and GMP standards.

  • Execute software testing, commissioning, qualification, and deployment activities for critical manufacturing applications.

  • Troubleshoot, perform root-cause investigations, and enhance system reliability and performance on site.

  • Ensure strict compliance with cybersecurity, data integrity, and change management requirements across OT/IT platforms.


What we are looking for:

  • Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Background in software development, database management, networking, and OT/IT system integration.

  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages including C#, SQL, PowerShell, and VBA.

  • Hands-on experience with automation/manufacturing systems (e.g., DeltaV, Syncade, OSIsoft PI, DCS, MES) in a GMP/GxP-regulated setting.

  • Understanding of software lifecycle management, computer system validation (CSV/CSA), and data integrity standards.

  • Strong analytical skills with a structured approach to troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.

  • Professional fluency in English and/or German.
