Job Description Summary:

The Account Manager will be responsible for managing and expanding key accounts across India and the Middle East with a focus on cell culture media sales. This role combines account management, customer advocacy and technical solution-selling. With annual revenues exceeding >5 mCHF from existing accounts and strong growth potential, the position requires a strong balance of commercial acumen, technical understanding and customer relationship building.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and expand strategic accounts across India and the Middle East.
  • Develop and execute account plans, mapping stakeholders and building long-term customer relationships.
  • Achieve annual sales targets and drive consistent revenue growth.
  • Identify new business opportunities in protein-based therapy and cell and gene therapy.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing and long-term supply agreements.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and ensure accountability for revenue performance.
  • Partner with technical, product management, marketing, and operations to deliver customer-centric solutions.
  • Promote Lonza’s Cell Culture Media solutions and coordinate with other value chains/platforms as needed.
  • Act as a customer advocate, ensuring best-in-class delivery and resolution of issues.

               Provide insights into customer pipelines, bioprocessing strategies and market trends to shape        

Key requirements:

  • B.S. or B.A./ MSc (Preferred)
  • English and Local Language depending on region / country should be business fluent.
  • Product Knowledge, Industry and Market, Applications / Workflows, Competition, Account / Customer, Tools and Resources 
  • Effective Communication, Priority Management, Accountability, Teamwork, Results-Driven, Strategic Thinking, Lonza Core Values .
  • Maintenance of quality systems and cGMP compliance for the business by ensuring compliance with processes, procedures and instructions for all activities.
  • Is knowledgeable and complies with all pertinent safety policies, rules and regulations.Ensures that all team members comply with safety rules and regulations
