To support the ongoing growth at our Lonza manufacturing site in Visp, we are looking for a Team Lead Lonza Training Center. This role is part of the Shared Infrastructure & Services organization and reports to the Head of Education & Training Visp. The position is responsible for leading and developing the team of trainers and managing all centralized training activities – from onboarding to advanced trainings.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Lead the strategic and operational direction of the Lonza Training Center Visp 

  • Manage and develop a team of 10–15 trainers

  • Coordinate external training partnerships and ensure alignment with site strategy 

  • Oversee onboarding, GMP basic training, and qualification programs for operations staff 

  • Conducting training sessions 

  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of training measures; manage KPIs and reporting 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across functions and sites (e.g. Business Platforms, QA, EHS, HR) 

  • Analyze training needs and support employee development aligned with Lonza’s culture 

  • Support new hires during onboarding and conduct performance check-ins 

Key requirements: 

  • Vocational qualification (EFZ) in chemical/pharma technology or training; ideally B.Sc./M.Sc./Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biotechnology 

  • 10+ years of experience in GMP-regulated environments, preferably in biopharma manufacturing 

  • Proven leadership experience and strong interpersonal skills 

  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken) 

  • Solution-oriented, structured, and resilient with high quality and safety awareness 

  • Passion for people development and the ability to coach and guide diverse teams
