Lonza’s Capsules & Health Ingredients business is the trusted partner for innovative products, including capsules and health ingredients, customization services and end-to-end dosage form solutions for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical companies.

We are hiring for a driven Strategic Buyer Direct Materials to join our global Direct Procurement team !

In this role you will be responsible for the procurement process of Direct Materials for Capsules & Health Ingredients. You will cultivate strong relationships with suppliers and implement efficient strategies to reduce costs. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams worldwide to ensure purchasing aligns with our business objectives and growth goals.

• Manage relationships with suppliers in liaison with the delegated spend and the category strategy.

• Source, tender, negotiate, and contract the spend for the Direct Materials (chemicals) within scope in line with category strategy and business requirements.

• Collaborate with assigned site collaborators, gather SAP data, and align operations with site(s) objectives.

• Drive savings initiatives: develop a pipeline of initiatives and realize savings with delegated spend suppliers or products.

• Develop category strategy for delegated spend in line with Lonza Procurement goals and business needs.

• Support CHI Director of Capsules & Ingredients direct materials for activities in relation to data mining, contract & NDA management, savings follow-up, and negotiations preparation.

• Bachelor’s degree in the field of Business, Economics, Procurement, Supply Chain, Chemistry, Pharma, or Biology, or equivalent experience.

• Experience in Procurement on an international level (Direct procurement) & procurement processes (category management, planning & contracting, supplier management, negotiation tactics, contract management, tendering, e-procurement services).

• Proficient in English.

• Scientific background is highly preferred.

• Hands-on experience with using SAP & Microsoft Office.
