At Lonza AG, we are seeking a Sr. Scientist, Development to drive innovative solutions within our Manufacturing division in Greenwood, SC, USA. This role offers a remarkable opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where your expertise will be pivotal to our growth and success!
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and validate analytical methods for raw materials and finished products in Chemistry, Colorimetry, and Microbiology laboratories within Quality Control.
- Provide direct customer support for quality investigations and perform investigative analyses.
- Ensure laboratories remain current with equipment, instrumentation, and methodologies in line with compliance and regulatory guidelines.
- Develop analytical methodologies to support materials, process, and product characterization.
- Perform validations for quality control release testing, research and development, and stability.
- Author methods, protocols, reports, and SOPs to support Quality activities.
- Conduct lab-scale experimentation and forensic analysis in support of investigative inquiries.
- Offer technical support to internal and external customers as a subject matter authority in analytical testing.
- Collaborate with inter-departmental and global personnel to provide Quality-based support and technical expertise.
- Maintain sophisticated knowledge of cGMP, cGLP, CFR, and other regulations to ensure laboratory compliance.
- Craft and implement presentations for various business needs, both in-person and virtually.
- Master’s Degree in Biochemistry or Chemistry or equivalent experience (required); Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry or Chemistry or equivalent experience (preferred).
- Sophisticated knowledge of various analytical instruments and techniques, including GC, HPLC, HPTLC, UV-Vis, FTIR, ICP, ELISA, Protein Quantification, Microscopy, Titrations, Sample Extraction Techniques, and Gravimetric analyses.
- Proficiency in quality documentation and scientific writing.
- Proven understanding of cGLP/cGMP.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office portfolio.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work extended hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Solid background in relevant subject areas and sophisticated technical skills.
- Capability to manage pressure from various collaborators and drive ongoing learning.
