Site Operational Excellence Manager (Dutch Speaking)

Location: Bornem

As a Site Operational Excellence Manager you are responsible for implementing strategies for continuous improvement and operational excellence in the areas of Safety, Quality, and Productivity across the Bornem site.

You will be responsible for spearheading continuous improvement initiatives that drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the overall operational performance of the organization. By implementing tools and ways of working, you will strengthen the practices at our site in line with the CHI operational excellence methodology.

What you will do:

  • Transform the organization to improve operational efficiency, processes, and ways of working across all operational and support departments.

  • Establish a continuous improvement and problem-solving strategy in line with the site's development strategy and in collaboration with various stakeholders.

  • Implement processes, systems, and tools (including huddle/tier meeting structures and 6S strategy) and coach the organization to continuously improve these processes.

  • Define and assess improvement projects, monitoring their impact on safety, quality, cost, and deadline criteria, while following up on implementation progress.

  • Develop Operational Excellence / LEAN maturity within the organization through training and targeted workshops for leaders, engineers, and technicians.

  • Coordinate strategic projects and the implementation of advanced daily management systems.

  • Lead the training strategy for the Bornem site, coaching and developing the Site Training Supervisor to deliver improved training systems across all functions.

  • Keep up to date with new technologies applicable to the site's activities.

What we are looking for:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.

  • 5–10 years of proven experience in Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement or Manufacturing Engineering at an advanced level.

  • 5–10 years of advanced experience in leading complex projects.

  • Fluency in both Dutch and English is required.

  • Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).

  • Skilled in leading cross-functional teams, communicating effectively, and driving organizational change.

  • Ability to take a holistic view of operations and identify opportunities that align with the overall business strategy.

  • Proficiency in interpreting data and using tools to identify trends and efficiencies.

  • A demonstrated track record of delivering measurable results and achieving excellence.

  • A genuine drive for fostering a culture where all team members are empowered to contribute ideas and participate in driving excellence.
