What will you do:
We are seeking a Senior Account Manager – Advanced Synthesis to manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer relationships within Lonza's Advanced Synthesis business. This role serves as a key commercial partner for pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers, customer satisfaction, project execution, commercial activities and account growth with assigned customers. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver value to customers while supporting Lonza business objectives.
Manage a portfolio of strategic customer accounts, driving customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and long-term business relationships
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customer stakeholders while serving as the primary commercial point of contact for assigned accounts
Identify and pursue opportunities to expand business within existing accounts by aligning customer needs with Lonza's Advanced Synthesis capabilities
Lead commercial discussions related to proposals, pricing, contracts, and business opportunities in collaboration with internal stakeholders
Develop, maintain and execute account plans, ensuring alignment with customer objectives, commercial priorities, and agreed growth strategies
Partner with Project Management, Operations, Technical Teams, and Business Development to support successful project execution and customer communications
Represent the voice of the customer internally, facilitating issue resolution, managing escalations, and ensuring commitments are fulfilled
Maintain accurate account plans, opportunities, forecasts, and customer information within Salesforce and other business systems
What we are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CDMO, or specialty chemical industry, including commercial, account management, business development, or customer-facing responsibilities
Experience supporting small molecule drug substance, amorphous solid dispersions, bioconjugation or contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) services
Demonstrated success managing customer relationships, growing accounts, and supporting complex commercial opportunities
Experience with proposal development, pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and commercial deal structures
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, and commercialization processes
Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage customers and internal teams effectively
Experience working in a cross-functional environment and managing multiple priorities while maintaining a strong customer focus
Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office applications
Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% to customer sites, industry events, and Lonza locations
