Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across five continents. While we work in science, there’s no magic formula to how we do it. Our greatest scientific solution is talented people working together, devising ideas that help businesses to help people. In exchange, we let our people own their careers. Their ideas, big and small, genuinely improve the world. And that’s the kind of work we want to be part of.

In the idyllic town of Visp we are looking for a highly detail oriented individual for a Scientist Quality Control / Deviation Specialist role in our growing Analytical Services team – the central hub for cutting-edge analytical support in biologics production at our Visp site!

As the first point of contact for all analytical samples from production, our team ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency around the clock. Whether chromatography, biochemistry, microbiology, or physical chemistry – we cover the full spectrum of analytical methods.

What Makes This Role Exciting?

As a Scientist in our QC 24/7 Analytical Services team, you will take ownership of deviation management and CAPA implementation—not just resolving issues but proactively driving preventive actions to ensure continuous improvement.

This role offers the opportunity to learn and optimize complex processes, contributing to our team's ability to deliver on time and in full. You will work closely with key stakeholders, including our analysts, technology labs, operations teams, and QA colleagues, fostering strong cross-functional collaboration.

Immerse yourself in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment where every day presents new challenges and opportunities to shape progress in the biologics production!

Key responsibilities:
  • Investigate deviations within the shift team and determine corrective actions to ensure compliance across all technologies, including HPLC, microbiology testing, and physico-chemical testing.

  • Communicate effectively with all collaborators in Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA), ensuring a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

  • Use Trackwise for Quality Management to maintain world-class standards.

  • Support optimization projects aimed at improving our processes and outcomes.

  • Maintain detailed documentation practices in line with GMP and Lean methodologies.
