We design and deliver solutions that enable scientists to accelerate innovation and improve health outcomes. We are seeking an IT Senior SAP Developer to support and enhance Lonza’s SAP landscape. This role requires hands‑on expertise in SAP ABAP and related technologies, with responsibility for developing, implementing, and supporting SAP solutions. The position involves working independently, engaging with business stakeholders, and providing recommendations and solutions across various processes, while also mentoring team members and leading project rollouts.

Role Purpose / Summary

The IT Senior SAP Developer ensures the delivery of robust, scalable, and compliant SAP solutions that support Lonza’s business processes. The role covers end‑to‑end development, enhancements, and support engagements, requiring strong technical expertise in ABAP and related frameworks. Operating at a senior level, the role drives solution design, implementation, and optimization, while acting as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop, implement, and support SAP solutions using ABAP and related technologies.
• Independently manage project rollouts, implementations, and support engagements.
• Provide recommendations and solutions during business discussions, ensuring alignment with best practices.
• Lead and mentor team members, fostering knowledge sharing and capability building.
• Deliver enhancements and customizations using Core ABAP and Object‑Oriented ABAP (OO ABAP).
• Apply enhancement frameworks (Exits, BADIs, BTEs, VOFM routines) to meet business requirements.
• Develop reports (Classical, Interactive, ALV – Classical & OO) and dialog programming solutions.
• Manage interfaces (ALE/IDOC/EDI, Web Services, Proxies) and forms (SAPScript, SmartForms, Adobe Forms).
• Support ABAP Workflow and integration with SAP modules (SD, MM, PP, QM, WM/EWM, FI, PM).
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging SAP best practices and methodologies.

Key Requirements

Domain Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in SAP ABAP and relevant technologies.
• Strong expertise in Core ABAP and OO ABAP.
• Hands‑on experience with enhancement frameworks (Exits, BADIs, BTEs, VOFM routines).
• Proficiency in reporting, dialog programming, and interface development.
• Experience with forms (SAPScript, SmartForms, Adobe Forms) and labels.
• Knowledge of SAP standard and custom business processes.
• Experience with ABAP Workflow is a plus.
• Exposure to ABAP RAP in S/4HANA, CDS Views, AMDP, OData, and SAP BTP extensibility is an advantage.
• Experience with Fiori/UI5 is a plus.
• Understanding of SAP modules such as SD, MM, PP, QM, WM/EWM, FI, PM.
• Experience in manufacturing industry is a plus.
