Lonza AG seeks a Head of Manufacturing to lead the ramp-up phase of a Lyophilization filling line in a major Capital investment project in Stein AG. This role plays a pivotal part in our ambitious growth strategy, ensuring the flawless start-up of the Lyophilization line, achieving the Health Authority approval and executing product transfers from customers.

What you’ll do:Ensure operational readiness of the new facility together with the Operations Lead team
Responsible for operative takeover of the new line (after operational qualification)
Lead the manufacturing team for the Lyophilized Vials Line (short term 8 direct reports, up to 26 direct reports mid-term)
Full responsibility of all people aspects such as qualification, development, coaching and executing the hiring plan
Build a culture of empowerment, innovation and trust
Define processes of the Lyophilized Vial area as well as overarching manufacturing and support processes
Prove timely user input for the project to keep timelines and budget and support of the supply chain team to ensure material availability on time
Support the project team in qualification and commissioning of all the equipment of the Lyophilized vials area.
Ensure Safety and Compliance
Representing the facility for customer visits, audits and inspections
Bachelor or Master degree (preferred) in a Science / Pharmaceutical Technology or equivalent
In depth knowledge of Drug Product Aseptic Processing including Lyophilization
Proven leadership experience and development of leadership teams delivering to targets in a multi-layered organization
Experience Commissioning and Qualification
Strong Leadership and Stakeholder management skills
Excellent communication skills and interaction with all kinds of internal and external interfaces
Fluency in English and solid skills in German (minimum B2 level) required
