DSP Technician (ME19)

The Downstream Processing (DSP) Technician will be responsible for the daily execution of the buffer operation. The Technician will be expected to learn and carry out the basic skills used in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environment and help to run the area and communicate to other teams. The Technician will work on buffer preparation activities as well as performing a list of daily tasks.
Hours of work are 6am to 6pm with both weekday and weekend shift work in rotation. The shift pattern is 2 days working, 2 days off then 3 days working and 3 days off.
Key responsibilities:
Formulating buffers to deliver on time in full to production
Completing batch records in relation to buffer formulations
Preparation of buffers and transportation to purification facilities when required. Dispensing of solid and liquid chemical reagents and transportation to buffer preparation area.
Understanding COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) requirements
Measuring pH and Conductivity
Scheduling buffers
Filter testing
Perform cleaning of buffer preparation facilities on a routine basis.
Pre use and post use cleaning of equipment
Key requirements:
Ensure that high standards of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) are adhered to both for self and others
Excellent organizational and time management skills, managing multiple priorities at any given time
A strong communicator – working with multiple teams in order to meet deadlines
Good attention to detail
Ensure high standards of housekeeping are adhered to
Ensure that team values are adhered to
Ensure that the appropriate safety policies and systems are adhered to.
Required Qualifications / Skills:
We are looking for a secondary school or maximum Bachelor's degree!
Proactive individual able to demonstrate good communication skills in both written and spoken English as well as basic mathematics skills.
Previous experience of working in a GMP environment would be beneficial
Willing to learn the skills and techniques needed to maintain and increase the service given to our customers
PC literate- able to use Word, Excel and Email
