Intro Summary of the RoleThe GBSO Country Head – India is responsible for leading the Finance Operations and Legal Entity Compliance for India within the Global Business Services Organization (GBSO). The role ensures delivery of high‑quality shared financial services, statutory and legal entity compliance, and alignment with Lonza Group standards while partnering with regional and global stakeholders.

- Lead the India GBSO team to deliver end‑to‑end finance services, including R2R, S2P, and O2C, in line with defined KPIs
- Act as FLER (Finance Legal Entity Responsible) and Board member, ensuring full statutory, tax, and financial compliance of Indian legal entities
- Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and regulatory authorities
- Lead tax, treasury, and transfer pricing operations in coordination with Corporate Tax and Treasury teams
- Drive internal control systems (ICS) effectiveness and ensure compliance with corporate standards
- Partner with APAC and global GBSO leadership to improve efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Support global initiatives such as SAP S/4HANA transformation and other enterprise projects
- Develop team capability, leadership pipeline, and succession planning within the country
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to enhance service delivery
A senior finance leader with strong shared service experience, statutory compliance expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex, global matrix organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (required)
- Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting (preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in large multinational organizations
- Proven experience in Shared Service Center / Global Business Services environments
- Strong exposure to legal entity compliance, audit, tax, treasury, and transfer pricing
- Experience working in regional or global leadership role.
- Strong financial governance and statutory compliance expertise
- SAP experience (SAP S/4HANA preferred)
- Transfer pricing and tax compliance knowledge
- Stakeholder management in global, matrix environments
- Change management and process transformation capabilities
- English – Business fluent (required)
- Professional accounting qualification (required)
- ACCA or equivalent (preferred)
