Electrical Design Engineer
Drive the electrical infrastructure and drive technology behind next-generation biotech manufacturing in our state-of-the-art Visp facility. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will deliver hands-on design, optimization, and lifecycle troubleshooting for critical process manufacturing systems.
Fully site‑based roles
This is a fully site‑based role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

Contract Duration: 12 months
Location: Visp, Switzerland
Hours: 41 hours per week

What you will do:
Deliver direct impact on site modernization by leading electrical engineering concepts, technical specifications, and detailed designs for major CAPEX projects.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary project teams, operations, maintenance, and automation specialists in Visp.
Execute hands-on engineering, troubleshooting, and asset lifecycle management for low-voltage systems, switchgear, UPS, and drive technology.
Specify and implement variable frequency drives (VFDs), frequency converters, electrical heating, and pipe trace heating systems.
Manage full lifecycle execution from initial feasibility studies through detailed engineering, on-site commissioning, and final handover.
Mentor project interfaces on electrical safety best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify and implement energy optimization measures to enhance plant sustainability and operational reliability.
What we are looking for:
Minimum 5 years of hands-on industrial electrical engineering experience within process manufacturing, chemicals, pharma, or heavy industry.
Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSc/MSc/HF) or qualification as a Federally Certified Electrical Installer, Master Electrician, or Electrical Project Manager (FA).
Strong technical expertise in low-voltage power distribution, switchgear, VFDs/frequency converters, UPS systems, and trace heating.
Demonstrated experience managing CAPEX projects through design, field troubleshooting, and commissioning.
In-depth understanding of Swiss regulatory frameworks and safety standards, specifically NIN, ATEX, and VKF fire protection regulations.
Native or professional fluency in German combined with working proficiency in English.
Strong analytical problem-solving skills with a collaborative, safety-first mindset.
