Manufacturing Technician 1

As a Manufacturing Technician 1 in Vacaville, CA, you will operate highly automated production systems within a cGMP manufacturing environment, directly executing cell culture or purification processes to help manufacture the medicines of tomorrow.

This is a fully site‑based role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards and the contract duration is 12 months.

Compensation for this role will be determined by the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and relevant knowledge.

What you will do:

• Contribute directly to the production of life-saving biotherapeutics in a 40-hour per week, 12-month contract position.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional shift teams and automated control systems to ensure smooth, continuous operations.

• Execute routine upstream operations (media preparation, fermentation, seed train, harvest) or downstream operations (buffer preparation, filtration, tank cleaning, column chromatography).

• Clean, assemble, sterilize, and set up fixed vessels, tanks, and filtration equipment for manufacturing runs.

• Maintain accurate, Right-First-Time execution on batch records, labels, and manufacturing tickets following cGMP standards.

• Safely handle hazardous materials and strictly adhere to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines.

• Participate in shift handovers and escalate process discrepancies or equipment issues promptly to maintain facility inspection readiness.

What we are looking for:

• Hands-on experience in cGMP manufacturing, mechanical operations, or technical operational environments.

• Proficiency in executing standardized operating procedures (SOPs) with strict attention to detail and Right-First-Time documentation.

• Mechanical aptitude and comfort interfacing with automated control systems and industrial equipment.

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree, science/engineering coursework, or relevant technical certifications preferred.

• Ability to meet physical demands, including cleanroom gowning, standing up to 90% of shift, lifting up to 40 lbs, and driving industrial trucks (DOT physical required).

• Strong team communication skills and resilience in dynamic, high-demand operational settings.

• Flexibility to work rotating day/night shifts following a mandatory 2-week day training program.
