Key responsibilities:Lead technical initiatives for scientific project teams passionate about shortening cell line development timelines, growing efficiency, and improving clone-fit using innovative techniques.
Directly manage a team of scientists, encouraging an inclusive and collaborative environment.
Integrate diverse scientific ideas into novel concepts with the support of business units and operations.
Plan and implement ambitious innovation projects, proactively managing uncertainties.
Establish and maintain outstanding working relationships with key functional partners.
Ensure rigorous scientific standards are met, incorporating GMP requirements into project development.
Maintain accurate and timely records to the highest quality standards for both self and team.
Prepare high-quality technical analyses and reports for both internal and external use.
Drive decision-making through timely and effective communication across all levels.
Share projects with internal collaborators and at external events.
Motivate and support your team to continuously improve and excel in their roles.
Ensure the work environment is efficient for team performance and achieving results.
Ph.D. degree or M.Sc. or equivalent experience with relevant industrial or academic background.
Proven project leadership and line management experience.
Experience managing mammalian cell line development initiatives, preferably including automated cell line screening within an R&D environment.
Extensive knowledge of CHO cell culture optimization, transfection, single cell isolation (preferably using Beacon optofluidic technology), clonal expansion, and small-scale bioreactors (e.g., Ambr15).
Enthusiastic and motivated to tackle and solve exceptionally challenging problems.
Demonstrated track record of delivering high-impact projects within time and quality constraints.
Strong communication abilities, capable of operating autonomously or collaboratively within a team.
Capacity to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to facilitate technology transfer and promote commercialization.
In-depth understanding of the competition and IP landscape relevant to the project.
Ability to identify IP threats and opportunities within active projects and areas of expertise.
Experience with directed evolution and automated screening applications in mammalian cells is advantageous.
