Location: Hyderabad, India

The actual location of this job is in Hyderabad, India. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed.

Drive the future of Lonza’s global operations by leading the end-to-end transition and knowledge transfer strategy for our Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad. In this high-impact role, you will build and direct a team of 7 Transition Managers to ensure seamless, wave-based process migrations while safeguarding business continuity.

This is an office‑first role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and team alignment, enabling us to deliver our best work. You will work primarily in the office, with the flexibility to work remotely for 20% of your time.

What you will get:

  • An agile career and dynamic working culture.

  • An inclusive and ethical workplace.

  • Compensation programs that recognize high performance.

  • A variety of benefits dependent on role and location.

  • The full list of our global benefits can be found here: https://www.lonza.com/careers/benefits.

What you will do:

  • Define and execute the end-to-end GCC transition strategy and wave-based roadmap, accelerating process migration while protecting business continuity and service quality.

  • Lead, mentor, and empower a team of 7 Transition Managers across multiple receiving and sending global locations.

  • Partner closely with Program Management, GCC Build Leads, Technology, HR, and functional SMEs to align cross-functional dependencies and readiness criteria.

  • Deploy robust knowledge capture/transfer methodologies, ensuring all SOPs, training materials, and process maps achieve formal sign-off prior to wave progression.

  • Conduct comprehensive readiness assessments covering people, processes, technology, and controls to guarantee Day 1 operational capability.

  • Direct hypercare planning, early-life performance tracking against SLAs/KPIs, and post-transition reviews to drive rapid issue resolution and continuous refinement of the transition playbook.

  • Utilize structured RAID frameworks to proactively identify, mitigate, and report transformation risks directly to program leadership and the Steering Committee.

What we are looking for:

  • 8-10+ years of GBS transition experience in complex global organizations across multi-wave migrations; top-tier GBS consulting experience or background with Swiss-headquartered multinationals is an advantage.

  • Proven track record in CDMO or life sciences environments with deep expertise in knowledge transfer, wave planning, transition playbooks, and hypercare management.

  • Demonstrated success managing cross-functional global teams, third-party service providers, and direct reports across diverse geographies.

  • Hands-on familiarity with enterprise platforms (such as SAP S/4HANA ecosystems) and digital/AI-supported process documentation tools.

  • Strong risk management discipline using transition RAID frameworks alongside expertise in workforce alignment (ramp-up, redeployment, and training).

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience); relevant project management or change management certifications are advantageous.

  • Excellent executive-level stakeholder communication skills and flexibility for international travel to support transition waves as needed.
