Summer Intern, Reliability Engineering

The actual location of this job is in Bend, Oregon.

Our Lonza Reliability Engineering team in Bend, Oregon has a summer internship opportunity for a student who wants to gain pharmaceutical industry experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will learn how engineering principles support equipment reliability, maintenance, and safe, efficient operations.

What you will get:

• Exposure to a fast-paced pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• The opportunity to work independently on a continuous improvement project during the internship.
• Hands-on experience applying engineering fundamentals to maintain and improve manufacturing and utilities equipment.
• Insight into technologies used to predict equipment failures and prevent unplanned downtime.

What you will do:

• Apply engineering knowledge to develop maintenance plans and update the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Use Root Cause Analysis to understand failures and improve equipment reliability.
• Apply an understanding of failure modes to complete spare parts reviews for new and existing systems.
• Follow established workflows and systems to support site operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

• A student currently pursuing an undergraduate or advanced engineering degree with at least 40 university credits; mechanical engineering preferred.
• A strong commitment to safety and high-quality work.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
