The actual location of this job is in Visp, Switzerland.

The Senior Strategic Buyer Indirect IT/OT will be part of the Indirect Procurement team and reports to the Head of Indirect Procurement Categories: Technology, Professional Services & MRO. The successful candidate will collaborate effectively with the Global IT/OT Category manager and other Category Managers to deliver value and continuous improvement to assigned sites and their stakeholders.

The role of this person is to partner with key stakeholders to ensure business continuity and verify that procurement activities meet specific site business needs. You will provide essential purchasing expertise in tendering, negotiation, and contracting while managing the delegated spend.

The hired candidate will be responsible for driving savings initiatives by developing a pipeline of projects and realizing cost reductions with delegated suppliers. You will manage supplier relationships in liaison with delegated spend, overseeing an annual portfolio of up to 50 million.

You will also act as a support for the roll-out of new procurement policies, procedures, and tools, ensuring the optimization of transactional costs and efficiency across the organization.

What you will do:

  • Support Category Managers with category and sourcing strategy development by providing site-specific business needs and reporting local market trends.

  • Execute sourcing initiatives for delegated spend across assigned sites, providing expertise in negotiation tactics and planning.

  • Manage the supplier portfolio to leverage capabilities, improve supply continuity, and reduce the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

  • Track country savings performance and identify potential risks and opportunities within the supply chain.

  • Identify and partner with site stakeholders (Budget owners, Legal, etc.) to understand and support current and future business needs.

  • Drive the utilization of leading-edge sourcing tools, including on-line catalogues and E-Auctions.

  • Perform comprehensive supply risk assessments across the existing supplier portfolio, including financial and quality risks.

  • Ensure the ERP system and RM documentation databases are accurately maintained.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Procurement, or Supply Chain.

  • 5–10 years of experience in Strategic Procurement; experience within the Pharma or a high-quality industry is preferred.

  • Business fluent in English.

  • Expertise in procurement processes: category management, supplier management, and contract management.

  • Hands-on experience using SAP, Ariba, and Microsoft Office.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage several priorities simultaneously.

  • Ability to persuade and influence suppliers to achieve the best outcomes for the business.

  • Knowledge of process improvement and a customer service-oriented mindset.

  • Willingness to adhere to GMP standards and safety procedures at all times.
