Job Summary:

The Sr. Scientist’s core responsibilities involve molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, protein purification and protein characterization techniques. The role will involve working on multiple customer projects. As part of your role, good record keeping, understanding of regulatory requirements and skilled presentation of data will be essential. The role will involve the execution and documentation of work to regulatory required standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Vector Constructions, express and purify encoded proteins according to strict SOPs

  • In-depth knowledge of protein structure and protein purification techniques

  • Prepare high quality reports and data summaries

  • Performing lab and area inspections to maintain high levels of quality and safety. Contribute to and maintain Operational Excellence initiatives

  • Effectively communicate with external customers and internal stakeholders across departments and sites

  • Provide mentoring and training to junior members of the team

  • Potential for line management

Key Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences/Biotechnology and relevant experience in an industrial lab environment

  • 5+ years of molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, protein purification and protein characterization in a lab setting

  • Excellent knowledge on molecular biology, mammalian cell culture and protein characterization

  • In-depth knowledge of protein structure and protein purification

  • A team player able to share knowledge with others and actively participate and lead scientific discussions with other members of the team and collaborators

  • Able to work independently and diligently to an established plan, prioritise and work to tight deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with good communication and attention to detail essential

  • A demonstrable analytical approach to problem-solving attitude is also an advantage

  • Ability to mentor and train junior scientists in the team and potential for line management role
