Senior Manager, Global Engineering Project Delivery (HVAC)

The Sr. Project Engineer/Manager (HVAC) is responsible for the design of all HVAC related activities, involving & driving in the execution and hand-over of CAPEX investment projects in US Integrated Biologics (INB) areas within safety, cost, schedule, quality and functionality. This is a Senior level position responsible for HVAC and Building Automation System engineering and coordination between all engineering areas and contractors and ensures that systems meet building concepts, technical standards, local codes, and global GMP regulations. This role is responsible for leading all design phases from feasibility and basic of design studies, detailed design phase, construction execution, commissioning, and documentatio through system acceptance. The Sr. Manager will lead and coordinate local and remote teams of HVAC Project Engineers / Leads / Contractors, planning the allocation of HVAC project engineering resources to support project requirements and key performance metrics. They will act as the “Lonza Global Engineering US Delivery team” HVAC knowledge management lead and subject matter expert. As a plus, understanding of industrial utility systems including but not limited to waste treatment, water systems, drain systems, Water for Injection, clean steam, and process gasses would be preferred.

What you will do:
- Responsible for all HVAC and BAS related activities of CAPEX projects to ensure that Lonza standards and requirements are correctly incorporated within the discipline specifications.
- Assist with other clean utility engineering as required. A fundamental understanding of WFI, Clean Steam, and process gasses is preferred.
- Team lead of direct/indirect resources for the Lonza Americas Delivery 1 projects to support HVAC and controls activities.
- Lead safety related activities in the projects. Safety walks, GEMBA, and incident investigation plans require consistent involvement by this person.
- Ensure implementation of internal and external technical standards according to Lonza requirements and its best practices including fit for purpose and sustainability.
- Define, control, maintain, and enhance Lonza HVAC requirements at the project level
- Work with procurement and contract management partners to assess and select reliable, cost-effective suppliers for HVAC projects, identify preferred vendors and develop pre-engineered Lonza designs
What we are looking for:
- 5+ years in project engineering or project management for the biotech industry
- Demonstrated Project Engineering and Management leadership skills
- High proficiency in general technical understanding and in-depth knowledge of HVAC and clean / process requirements for biopharmaceutical production facilities.
- Ability to drive commercial and schedule awareness during all phases of the project cycle and to identify critical paths and drive innovations to support their execution when challenges arise.
- Self-starter, proactive, excellent in problem-solving and communication in a highly agile environment.
- Capable of motivating team, drives results through strong communication and organization skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment is crucial.
