The Senior Laboratory Technician is working as a member of a research unit or project team. Carries out the practical work in the laboratory on advanced technologies such as automated preparative robotics, continuous-flow processing, and complex analytics. It includes planning of the work and technical assessment of results. Takes over responsibility for lab projects, special tasks, and occasionally lab manager tasks. Uses judgement based on practice and precedence.

What you`ll do:
- Run laboratory or analytical experiments mainly in the E52 fifth floor laboratory.
- Run the experiences in a high level of quality, regulatory and safety standard with little or without supervision.
- Run experiences in using advanced technologies such as Automated Preparative Robotics, Continuous-Flow processing, and complex analytics. It could also be in the HAPI-Lab, when needed.
- May run lab scale manufacturing campaign.
- Work in a matrixial environment namely a project.
- Planning, selecting and set-up of most suitable equipment.
- Planning of experiments, logistics, safety measures without supervision.
- Documentation of results including data-analysis and basic data-interpretation.
- Ensures excellent maintenance of the workplace (lab, pilot plant, etc).
- Evaluate, purchase, maintain and qualify equipment in the laboratory.
- Sharing-Best-Practices for techniques and equipment.
- Develop advanced technical skills on expert level.
- Supervision of apprentices and trainees.
- Lead of small projects including the Kaizen sessions for the E52 laboratory. (Kaizen, Safety-Coach, Purchasing, Maintenance, apprentice coaching, etc.)
- Supports projects in production or pilot scale facilities
What we`re looking for:
- Vocational education of at least 3 years in a field like analytical chemistry, chemistry, biology or equivalent education. Preferred area of study: Chemistry
- At least 5-8 years’ experience on t job. ( after education)
- EFZ or equivalent for CH
- Good understanding of procedures, concepts and state-of-the art techniques/ technologies within own discipline. Specialist at least in one area of expertise.
- Problem solving skills in the field of own discipline, efficient planning and execution skills, good communication skills to exchange relevant information; team player; written and oral communication in English and local language.
- Entrepreneurial, reliable and accurate, flexible, can handle parallel work, able to withstand stress, direction setting attitude.
