Senior Engineer - Frontline MAR Support

As a Senior Engineer for Frontline MAR support, you will lead complex investigations, drive system improvements, and implement strategic changes to support a robust and reliable production environment.
Key responsibilities:
Directly support manufacturing activities as an equipment/system subject matter expert (SME), ensuring assigned systems are ready for use.
Investigate and assess complex unplanned events, manage planned system changes, and lead small to medium-sized improvement projects.
Partner with teams, including Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Maintenance, System Owners, Automation, SHE, and Quality Assurance, to realize the production schedule.
Use in-depth technical knowledge, project leadership skills, and sophisticated understanding of GMP systems to identify and solve complex problems, make and influence decisions, and deliver results.
Own/support one or more of the following systems: Buffer/Media Prep and Hold, Clean-in-Place skids, Washers and Autoclaves, Seed Train Operations, Bioreactors, Process Analytical Technology, Harvest/Centrifuge, Chromatography, Viral Filtration System, Ultrafiltration/Diafiltration, Freeze/thaw skids, Bulk Dispensing Operations.
Provide in-depth SME support for manufacturing equipment/systems including: startup, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment, providing 24/7 on-call support as assigned.
Formally train and develop colleagues, providing mentorship and troubleshooting strategies.
Supervise operations, equipment performance, and analyze data, recommending improvements and leading project teams to implement solutions.
Key requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Chemical Engineering preferred.
Proficient experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) related to biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
Strong technical understanding of common biopharmaceutical drug substance manufacturing unit operations.
Formal root cause analysis training and significant experience leading RCAs.
Proficiency with MS Office, SAP, P&IDs, and other relevant tools.
Proven project management and execution experience, particularly for small to medium complexity projects.

As required by law in this state, the quoted salary range for this position is $129,000-$219,000. We use broad salary ranges that reflect the competitive market for similar jobs, provide sufficient opportunity for growth as you gain experience and expand responsibilities; while also allowing for differentiation on performance based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at the company between the lower and the middle part of the applicable range. We tailor our offers within the range based on job-related factors, including organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic area and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and/or communication skills and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. This range is only inclusive of base salary, and base pay is just one component of Lonza’s total compensation package for employees.
