Senior Biotechnologist Associate II 

Portsmouth, New Hampshire, site-based role

Join Lonza as a Senior Biotechnologist Associate II and play a key role in delivering life-changing therapies to patients around the world. In this senior manufacturing position, you will provide technical expertise, support operational excellence, and help drive continuous improvement within our manufacturing operations. This is an exciting opportunity to influence production success, mentor colleagues, and contribute to innovative biopharmaceutical manufacturing. 

 

Schedule: 

  • Shift: Rotational Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) 

  • Pattern: 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off (repeating cycle) 

  • Weekend shifts include additional pay.

What you will do: 

  • Act as a subject matter expert for manufacturing processes and equipment within your area of expertise. 

  • Support the safe and compliant execution of manufacturing operations in a GMP environment. 

  • Partner with customer and internal teams to support technical transfer and process implementation. 

  • Train, mentor, and support manufacturing colleagues on new equipment, systems, and processes. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements. 

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, systems, and process challenges to maintain operational excellence. 

  • Support production documentation, electronic batch record review, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
     

What we are looking for:

  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a science-related field preferred. 

  • Significant experience in manufacturing, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or another regulated environment. 

  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Experience supporting process improvement and operational excellence initiatives. 

  • Ability to work effectively across teams and build strong working relationships. 

  • Commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and continuous learning.
