Lonza has an exciting opportunity for a Scientist to join our R&D department at our Cambridge facility. In this role, you will lead client-facing projects involving the design, execution, and optimisation of in vitro cell-based bioassays using human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) to assess the immune response to therapeutics.

What you will do

• Support and deliver in vitro cell-based bioassays to assess immune responses to therapeutic candidates across multiple client studies.
• Perform routine isolation, banking, and characterisation of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) following standard operational procedures.
• Maintain reliable laboratory workflows, troubleshoot routine experimental procedures, and assist in optimising and expanding assay capabilities.
• Keep accurate laboratory records, compile findings into technical reports, and present results to project teams and clients.

What we are looking for:

• Degree (BSc or MSc) in Biological Sciences, Immunology, or a related discipline.
• Solid theoretical understanding of immunology and bioassay principles.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with cell culture techniques, aseptic handling, or immune cell isolation, preferably in an industrial environment.
• Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development
• Clear communication, strong record-keeping abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
