Job Summary
The Sales Order & Master Data Specialist is responsible for the accurate creation, maintenance, and management of sales orders and critical master data to support efficient and compliant Order-to-Cash processes. This role ensures the integrity of customer, material, pricing, and commercial data while enabling seamless order execution, billing, and customer delivery. Working closely with Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, and Program Management teams, the position supports operational excellence, process compliance, and the successful implementation of SAP S/4HANA.

What you will do:
Sales Order Management
- Create, validate, and maintain sales orders in accordance with customer requirements, commercial agreements, and defined service level expectations.
- Review customer purchase orders and contracts to ensure accurate order setup, including pricing, quantities, delivery schedules, payment terms, and billing instructions.
- Ensure sales orders are processed accurately to support timely fulfillment, invoicing, and revenue recognition.
- Monitor the sales order lifecycle and coordinate the resolution of order blocks, discrepancies, amendments, and exceptions.
- Process customer order changes, amendments, and cancellations in a controlled and timely manner.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Supply Chain, Planning, Logistics, and Finance teams to resolve order-related issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
Master Data Management & Governance
- Maintain accurate customer, material, pricing, billing, shipping, and commercial master data required for order processing activities.
- Ensure master data changes are executed accurately, on time, and in accordance with governance standards and business requirements.
- Identify, investigate, and escalate master data quality issues that may impact order processing, billing accuracy, or customer experience.
- Support master data governance initiatives, standardization efforts, and continuous improvement programs.
- Maintain data integrity to enable operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and business decision-making.
Compliance & Process Excellence
- Ensure all sales orders comply with internal controls, customer contracts, pricing approvals, and established process requirements.
- Support audit readiness activities and compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and process standards.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and records related to sales order processing and master data activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance process efficiency, service quality, and compliance.
SAP S/4HANA Implementation & Continuous Improvement
- Support SAP S/4HANA implementation and deployment activities related to sales order management and master data processes.
- Participate in system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), issue resolution, process validation, and user training activities.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
- Support process harmonization, automation, and standardization initiatives across regions and functions.
What we are looking for:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 5-10 years of experience in Sales Order Management, Order-to-Cash (O2C), Customer Service Operations, Master Data Management, or a related operational function.
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA.
- Experience supporting cross-functional business processes involving Commercial, Supply Chain, and Finance teams.
- Experience participating in ERP implementation, transformation, or process improvement initiatives is preferred.
Skills
- Strong understanding of Order-to-Cash processes and sales order management.
- Knowledge of customer, material, pricing, and commercial master data governance.
- Experience with SAP ERP systems; SAP S/4HANA experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business applications.
