For our Visp Integrated Biologics and Specialized Modality organizations, we are seeking an Automation Lead to manage programs that strengthen operational capability and standardization, and contribute to recipe management efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of Automation Engineers, ensuring team functionality and alignment with operational priorities.
- Deliver on direct line management responsibilities, including mentoring, performance feedback, and development planning.
- Collaborate with Operations, MSAT, and Quality across business platforms to align automation objectives with business strategy.
- Coordinate schedules and deliverables, to meet the needs of Integrated Biologics and Specialized Modality operations while managing team capacity effectively.
- Manage a local Center of Excellence for MES and DCS Automation, working with the global Center of Excellence to standardize automation approaches in biopharma manufacturing.
- Act as an integrator—removing barriers, ensuring consistent communication, and building alignment between global strategy and site operations.
- Contribute automation expertise to design development teams.
- Provide high-level troubleshooting support with the team.
- Act as a subject matter expert in DeltaV and Syncade systems, GMP lifecycle management, and biological manufacturing
- Manage compliance tasks related to multi-asset SOP assessments and CAPAs and ensure timely closure.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biochemistry, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 5+ years in Biologics GMP manufacturing with operational experience and strong knowledge of MES/DeltaV systems.
- Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of DeltaV, MES and GMP manufacturing principles and compliance in automation.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, get results, and promote collaboration across departments.
- Discernment and savvy in understanding the business landscape, along with a strong customer orientation and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Language Skills: Proficient in English (required); German proficiency is a plus.
