As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for process development in synthesis and/or analytics by focusing on process performance, process robustness, and innovation.  Executes projects and scientific experiments with a medium-high level of technical difficulty and a medium-low level of supervision. To work cross functionally within the organization to provide technical support and expertise to facilitate drug development in the product lifecycle through the successful completion of projectsTo provide support in the Product Development as a member of a research unit or project teamResponsible for tasks leading up to, during, and completion of dosage forms produced in Product Development.   

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and complete scientific assignments and problem-solving techniques to support Product Development projects
  • Demonstrate scientific and technical accountability for assignment completion at the project level
  • Apply advanced knowledge in formulation and process unit operations to support technical transfer and scale-up of customer processes from the laboratory/pilot plant to commercial scale
  • Collect, summarize, and analyze scientific data to prepare reports for internal and external use
  • Author and review study protocols, reports, SOPs, and other internal mentorship documents
  • Identify atypical results, collect data, establish facts, and lead discussions on corrective measures
  • Lead investigations, review documentation, and approve results to make informed decisions on the development process
  • Coordinate work areas to maintain compliance with SOPs and inspection readiness
  • Complete scientific and non-scientific tasks using advanced technical knowledge in a laboratory setting
  • Independently craft, develop, and implement assignments and experiments that contribute to project deliverables
  • Apply knowledge in experimental design, data decision-making, and reporting practices to support projects
  • Develop and continuously improve safety and compliance practices reflected in SOPs
  • Lead the development, implementation, and improvement of laboratory practices and procedures to streamline deliverables
  • Demonstrate high-level knowledge of the drug development process, especially in analytical method development and validation
  • Lead and author scientific publications to highlight technical fields or innovations

 

Key Requirements:

  • B.S. in life sciences or a related field
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in science or concentrated studies preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with B.S. or M.S., or 3 years with Ph.D.
