We are expanding our team and are searching for a Research Associate 3 to join our innovative and ambitious team in the Netherlands. This role presents a special opportunity to contribute to modern research and assist in the development of powerful cell therapy products.
Key responsibilities:Offer technical assistance to Lead Scientists in performing analytical tests for the assessment of cellular products.
Conduct and complete complex scientific experiments with minimal supervision and interpret experimental results.
Plan and support the development and execution of state-of-the-art manufacturing processes for Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) within the Cell Therapy Development framework.
Interact with Cell Therapy clients to detail and transfer new processes to Lonza sites, and present work in meetings.
Contribute scientific or engineering expertise toward building and inventing new process ideas that support product concepts for customers.
Perform cellular, biochemical, and molecular techniques, including cell culture, nucleic acid extraction, real-time qPCR/RT-PCR, ddPCR, flow cytometry, microscopy, ELISA, and spectrophotometric, fluorometric cell-based potency assays.
Develop, implement, and conduct statistical analysis of experimental data.
Maintain accurate and detailed records, experimental data, and protocols following Lonza’s best documentation practices.
Prepare data summaries and reports, collaborating with Lead Scientists to communicate results for internal and external meetings, written reports, and presentations.
Offer technical assistance in optimizing, qualifying, and transferring analytical methods to QC.
Perform common laboratory maintenance and maintain stocks of lab supplies and reagents.
Align with all relevant safety policies, rules, and regulations.
Foster positive connections with operations, R&T, QC, QA, and PM teams.
Key requirements:
Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of related laboratory experience in Life Sciences or a related field.
A Master's degree along with a minimum of 2 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree with 4 years or more of experience.
Experience with mammalian tissue culture, including stem cells, immune cells or human-sourced primary cells.
Hands-on experience with single-use and scalable systems, such as multi-layered flasks and/or bioreactor systems.
Knowledge of cellular biology/chemistry and various types of laboratory equipment.
Strong aseptic technique and technical writing skills.
Prior exposure to data statistical analysis (Excel, JMP, Prism, etc.) is desirable.
Demonstrated knowledge of antibody-based methodologies, including immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, FACS analysis, and ELISA.
Experience with nucleic acid and protein sample preparation/purification, and optimization and qualification of quantitative experimental composing and statistical methods.
Proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Office, TrackWise, DMS, ERP system, and accurate record-keeping.
Excellent time management, independent work skills, and a strong work ethic.
