Quality Control Analyst

The Quality Control Analyst plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of testing activities within Lonza’s Quality Control (QC) Laboratory in Rockland, ME. This position is responsible for executing a range of laboratory functions while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. In addition, this role serves as a key QC representative on cross-functional project and product teams, providing technical expertise and ensuring that all activities align with quality and compliance requirements. The Quality Control Analyst also supports scientific and technical investigations, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions to maintain product quality and regulatory adherence.
This position is based on site at our Rockland, ME facility and requires a five-day onsite presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform analytical testing to ensure product quality and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
Lead the transfer, validation, and implementation of new analytical methods and technologies into the QC laboratory.
Serve as the QC representative on cross-functional teams, providing technical expertise and ensuring quality alignment across projects.
Review, analyze, interpret, and report laboratory data in accordance with GDP and ALCOA+ principles.
Support investigations by identifying root causes and contributing to the development of effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
Assist with responses to audits, deviations, out-of-specification (OOS) results, customer complaints, and change controls.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all testing activities comply with established procedures and quality systems.
Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Key Requirements:
M.S. or B.S. in Life Sciences, preferably with a focus in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Microbiology.
Hands-on experience with gel electrophoresis (agarose gels) and related analytical techniques.
Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation such as viscometers, turbidimeters, moisture analyzers, luminometers, and pH/conductivity meters.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity principles (GDP and ALCOA+).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data to internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Self-motivated, organized, and adaptable to changing priorities.
Experience supporting audits, CAPAs, or other quality system activities preferred.

The full-time base annual salary for this On-site position is expected to range between $69,000.00 and $111,000.00. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and job-related knowledge.
