QC Analyst I – Environmental Monitoring (Cell Therapy, 2nd Shift)
Location: Portsmouth, NH, USA.
Schedule: 2nd Shift, 1:00 PM – 11:30 PM | Wednesday – Saturday
Are you looking to launch a meaningful career in the life sciences? As a QC Analyst I supporting our Cell Therapy asset, you are the front-line guardian of a highly sensitive manufacturing environment. Because Cell Therapy involves handling patient-derived cells that cannot be sterilized at the end of the process, your work in microbial control is the final line of defense. This is an entry-level role designed for a reliable, motivated individual who wants to master the technical skills of Quality Control while supporting one-of-a-kind, life-saving treatments.
What You’ll Get
Mission-Driven Work: Every sample you take and every test you run directly ensures the safety of a customized treatment for a specific patient.
A Career Launchpad: We provide comprehensive training in cGMP, Data Integrity, and Aseptic Environmental Monitoring—foundational skills that are the gold standard of the biotech industry.
Predictable & Balanced Schedule: Our 4x10 schedule (Wednesday – Saturday) means you work four focused days and enjoy three consistent days off every Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
Full Lonza Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and performance-based incentives. lonza.com/careers/benefits.
What You’ll Do
Cell Therapy Support: Execute routine HVAC and Utility sampling throughout our specialized Cell Therapy suites to ensure a pristine environment for patient-cell processing.
Testing Execution: Run microbial test samples for In-Process, Lot Release, and ongoing customer Stability studies.
Laboratory Operations: Utilize specialized laboratory computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to track and manage critical environmental data.
Data Integrity: Apply rigorous Data Integrity principles to all work, ensuring that every record is accurate, complete, and compliant with Lonza’s global policies.
Deviation Awareness: Work on semi-routine assignments where you will learn to recognize any environmental deviations and escalate them immediately to protect the integrity of the cell therapy batch.
Collaborative Support: Act as a dedicated member of the Microbial Control team, providing on-time, high-quality results to meet the fast-paced demands of our Cell Therapy manufacturing schedule.
Who We’re Looking For
The "Driven Starter": You are reliable, punctual, and eager to learn. You understand that in Cell Therapy, there is no room for error, and you take pride in doing a job correctly every time.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate’s Degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related Science field is preferred.
Experience: This is an Entry-Level (0–4 years) role. We value your desire to learn and your commitment to quality over prior industry experience.
Technical Mindset: Strong ability to follow complex instructions and a high attention to detail. You should be comfortable interpreting data (both independently and with guidance).
Communication & Reliability: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Since this role supports our 2nd shift (Wednesday–Saturday), we need a team player who is committed to their schedule and arriving on time.
Commitment to Safety: A proactive mindset regarding safety and a willingness to take responsibility for the well-being of yourself and your coworkers.
