Kingston is hiring a Purchasing and Outside Service Planner. This remarkable opportunity allows you to play a pivotal role in planning and procuring raw materials and supplies necessary for the production of our finished goods. This role supports operations in the R&D, Engineering, Biology Lab, Manufacturing, MSAT, and Supply Chain. You will work closely with the Purchasing and Supply Chain management team locally at the Kingston Site.
(Key Responsibilities)▪ Procure materials, components, equipment, supplies, and services vital for the operation of the company.
▪ Plan, schedule, and supervise goods and services to meet the production requirements of the company, employing techniques such as JIT, Kanban, Blanket POs, and Reschedules.
▪ Ensure purchase requisitions and orders are closed on a timely basis.
▪ Check requisitions and MRP requirements, contact, and evaluate sources.
▪ Set up and maintain material, supplier, and planning system data in the MRP/ERP system.
▪ Exercise a good working knowledge of goods, services, and sources of supply to make purchases at prices consistent with quality and quantity requirements.
▪ Determine material requirements for expense orders with Biology, Engineering, and production schedules, coordinating the efficient movement of materials through the production cycle.
▪ Identify and evaluate sources of supply consistent with the quality and quantity requirements of the company.
▪ Evaluate bids consistent with the total cost of ownership.
▪ Work with receiving, finance, and suppliers to reconcile discrepancies in receiving and invoicing.
▪ Develop, implement, and support sourcing and supplier management initiatives.
▪ Support Lean and EHS activities and initiatives.
Leadership

Computer/Software Skills
- Advanced proficiency in using spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software.
- Intermediate level understanding of ERP systems (Visual / SAP).
Decision Making
- Propose ideas during problem-solving, root cause analysis, and process improvement events.
- Provide suggestions for improvement to documentation and workflows.
Communication
- Write free of punctuation, spelling, and grammatical errors.
- Optimally represent the department in meetings and on project teams.
- Provide timely, clear, and accurate updates without being prompted.
- Bachelor's degree required – preferably in Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, or Economics.
- 5-10 years in the area of Supply Chain, Purchasing, Finance.
- APICS or Certified Professional in Supply chain Management (CPSM).
