Principal Expert, MSAT – Data Science
The Principal Expert provides site-level technical leadership and sets the strategic direction for Data Science capabilities within MSAT.

What you will do:
- Define and drive the site-level data science strategy and technical direction within MSAT, aligned with manufacturing priorities and future capability needs
- Establish and govern data science standards, best practices and frameworks to ensure consistent, scalable and compliant application across the site
- Provide technical leadership across multiple data science domains, integrating expertise (e.g. multivariate analysis, statistical modelling, visualization, automation) to guide solution design and decision-making
- Lead high-impact or keystone initiatives end-to-end, ensuring delivery of measurable outcomes aligned with business and operational goals
- Influence and partner with cross-functional stakeholders (MSAT, MFG, QA, QC, IT, OE) to drive adoption of data-driven approaches
- Review and assure the quality of analytical solutions and models for complex or critical initiatives, ensuring robustness, compliance and alignment with standards
- Build and develop data science capability within the organization through mentoring, coaching and pragmatic adoption of new methodologies and technologies
- Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Life Sciences or related disciplines
- Significant experience applying data science in operational, process engineering or manufacturing environments, preferably within regulated industries (biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, medical devices)
- Proven track record of leading complex, high-impact data science initiatives end-to-end, delivering measurable business or operational outcomes
- Strong experience working with manufacturing data systems (e.g. historian data such as PI, process monitoring platforms or integrated data environments) and integrating multiple data sources
- Deep expertise in one or more data science domains (e.g. multivariate analysis, statistical modelling, data visualization, workflow automation), with the ability to work across domains
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. MSAT, Manufacturing, Quality, IT) and supporting adoption of data-driven solutions
- Strong practical judgement, with the ability to translate complex data science approaches into robust, scalable and fit-for-purpose solutions in a GMP environment
