Embark on a night shift journey with Lonza AG, where your technical skills will develop the future of operational technology! As an Operational Technology Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the manufacturing and process automation systems that drive our success.

Key responsibilities:
  • Deliver 24x7x365 support to manufacturing operations by troubleshooting equipment, systems, instrumentation, servers, and processes to resolve issues that may arise during manufacturing campaigns.

  • Provide process automation support for ongoing production operations and new equipment/process introductions.

  • Offer off-shift and on-call support when necessary, ensuring that our operations run efficiently at all times.

  • Assist other departments by evaluating historical process/equipment data to drive continuous improvement.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot daily system backups to maintain flawless operations.

  • Train users in the basic operation and maintenance of computers and related components.

  • Communicate progress and opportunities effectively to collaborators.

  • Act as the overseer for F&E equipment and systems, ensuring their efficient operation.

  • Perform duties as a system administrator for manufacturing equipment and systems, conducting regular assessments of the OT systems.

  • Ensure various user levels have appropriate, detailed training and authorization for access to F&E managed computer systems.

  • Handle backup/archiving/restoring of OT configuration and batch/recipe/methods.

  • Support or maintain the OT network, control, and I/O level networks.

  • Improve process control by using innovative automation concepts and solutions.

  • Evaluate and enhance site OT guidelines for both hardware and software.

  • Assist with projects and guarantee compliance with site OT guidelines.

  • Review Qualification/Validation protocols and related documentation.

  • Support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections.

  • Guarantee that new and legacy systems align with current IT/OT security policies and regulations, including FDA 21 CFR part 11 and Annex 11.

  • Evaluate and integrate technology to incorporate innovation into process and equipment builds.

  • Interact with internal/external customers to evaluate process requirements and ensure facility and equipment OT capabilities can accommodate.

Key requirements:
  • AS Degree in Mechanical, Electronic, Instrumentation, or Electrical Field, or equivalent experience.

  • Significant experience in automated hardware, software, instrumentation, and computerized system administration supporting a production environment.

  • Hands-on experience with platforms and systems like Unicorn, OSIsoft PI, Vaisala ViewLinc, Rockwell, Automated Logic WebCTRL, Wonderware System Platform, Window OS, DCS, and Industrial Communication Networks.

  • cGMP experience preferred.

  • Outstanding troubleshooting skills and strong communication abilities.

  • Ability to work well in both team environments and independently.

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
