Key responsibilities:Lead the successful transfer of viral vector bioprocesses into GMP production.
Ensure process scalability and manufacturability.
Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to determine and implement technology transfer activities.
Coordinate campaign preparation, process supervision, and post-production reporting.
Lead major deviations and drive continuous manufacturing process improvement.
As a Functional Lead, you will coordinate the seamless transfer of Viral Vector Processes into GMP production. Collaborate with Process Development, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Program Management to ensure timely and complete delivery. Represent Lonza in meetings with clients and guide other scientists in MSAT activities.
Technical Bioprocessing Subject Matter Expert (SME):Be the go-to expert for Viral Vector Bioprocessing within MSAT and across Lonza teams. Perform process fit-to-plant activities, lead FMEA-based risk assessments, and ensure material sterility. Author and review process flow diagrams, and batch records, and support Deviation Investigations and CAPAs.
Data Management:Conduct detailed data analysis of bioprocessing parameters and generate essential Technology Transfer documents. Recommend improvements to improve MSAT practices and ensure world-class operational efficiency.
Safety:Adhere strictly to safety procedures and policies. Attend health and safety training, promote a proactive safety culture, and report any accidents or potential hazards promptly. Ensure alignment with company and site-wide safety standards.
Key requirements:Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field.
8+ years of experience in bioprocessing or a related field.
Advanced knowledge of cellular biology, cell culture, bioreactor operation, mass transfer, filtration, chromatography, and aseptic processing.
Desirable experience with sterile processing and/or sterile filling operations.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Effective communication of technical challenges and solutions.
Experience in leading projects and cross-departmental collaboration.
Proficiency in root cause analysis and risk assessment methodologies.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Knowledge of statistical data analysis is advantageous.
