The site in Visp, Switzerland is growing and for our Specialized Modalities organization, we are currently looking for a Manager for Process and Data Analytics (to join the MSAT Team) in Microbial Operation, to support our Microbial manufacturing assets. The MSAT Manager for Process and Data Analytics is a key role within Microbial Operations. Responsibilities and activities focus on the management and use of Statistica Enterprise / GDM (Global Data Mart) and process improvement initiatives.

What you’ll do:
Data Management
Support Statistica Enterprise (Global Data Mart - GDM) for all process-related data
Compile and transfer process parameter data to the GDM production system
Validate GDM objects and create queries (SQL)
Set up continuous process verification (CPV) and create/customize control charts
Represent MSAT Microbial as GDM SME within Lonza's global network
Align with the global data management team and stay on track for system and/or procedural updates
Analyze data using statistical tools and software (e.g., JMP, SeeQ, SIMCA, R) during process improvement projects or troubleshooting/investigations
Act as SPOC for software systems management within MSAT Microbial, coordinating licenses, IT network, and SharePoint supervision
Serve as SPOC to MSAT and Microbial operation organization
Process Improvement
Analyze process data using statistical tools and software (e.g., JMP, SeeQ, SIMCA) during process improvement projects or troubleshooting/investigation
Model processes through time and motion studies for cycle time improvement, facility fit assessment and debottlenecking
Provide expert support using bioprocess engineering tools (e.g., mixing studies, CFD) to support process scale-up
Evaluate new trends and technologies for data analysis and process modelling and lead the integration of new technologies within our organization
Lead or support operational excellence projects to improve manufacturing processes using Six Sigma tools
What we’re looking for:
Biochemical Engineering or related field with process development and manufacturing experience (USP and/or DSP) at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD level or equivalent experience
Significant experience in data science and statistics in biopharma, preferably in microbial manufacturing
GMP experience and understanding of bioprocess technology and compliance requirements
Excellent planning and organizing skills, including project management and risk management
Ability to build a strong network beyond work area and lead or drive projects in a matrix organization
Proficiency in statistics, statistical tools (e.g., MVA), and preferably process modeling (e.g., SuperPro Designer or SchedulePro)
While not required, a Green Belt certification (Lean Six Sigma) would be a valuable asset in this role
Good communication skills in English; German is a plus
