The MSAT Engineer ensures that all GMP manufacturing processes are crafted and delivered in a compliant and efficient manner. This role supports the technical and regulatory aspects of assigned projects from inception to completion, including tech transfer and scale-up activities. The engineer collaborates cross-functionally across the organization to facilitate successful project completion aligned with Lonza’s goals.
Key responsibilities:Offer technical assistance for all GMP manufacturing processes and projects.
Lead and support technology transfer activities from development to GMP manufacturing, including scale-up and risk mitigation for tablet formulations.
Plan, coordinate, review, and track timelines and progress to ensure timely deliverables.
Apply knowledge in blending, granulation, encapsulation, tableting, and coating operations.
Offer technical assistance for GMP oral solid dose (OSD) manufacturing operations.
Understand and apply chemical and engineering fundamentals including chemistry, materials science, and basic mathematical modeling.
Author documentation including master batch records, protocols, and engineering studies.
Collaborate with internal departments and clients to develop and optimize manufacturing processes.
Lead process and technical investigations to support root cause analysis, product impact assessment, and effective CAPA definition.
Perform and interpret statistical analyses such as SPC, multiple linear regression, ANOVA, and multivariate analysis.
Apply Building of Experiments (BoE) principles during early clinical phase development to support robust process construction.
Minimum Education Level Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Desired Area of Study: Science or Engineering
Minimum Years of Experience: 1–3 years
Desired Area of Expertise: Pharmaceutical sector with familiarity in cGMP standards
Attend applicable meetings and discussions in support of related projects.
Align with all state and federal regulatory requirements and guidelines.
Follow all specified Safety and Sustainability guidelines and ask for clarification when necessary.
Promptly report and rectify Safety and Sustainability issues or deficiencies.
Stop work when necessary to maintain safety.
