Key responsibilities:
  • Perform, analyze, and interpret microbial testing for raw materials, finished products, in-process samples, and stability according to work instructions.
  • Prepare and calculate stock cultures, ensuring flawless execution.
  • Conduct investigations and identify microbial isolates.
  • Promote microbial growth and calibrate/verify laboratory equipment.
  • Undertake special projects to support continuous improvement.
  • Periodically review and update Standard Operating Instructions (SOIs) and Work Instructions (WIs).
  • Maintain housekeeping of the laboratory to ensure a clean and efficient work environment.
  • Prepare media, test pH levels, collect and log samples, and manage inventory supplies.
  • Conduct Environmental Monitoring (EM) including air, surface, personnel, and water assessments.
  • Support Senior Microbiologists with validation execution, testing, and laboratory investigations.

Key requirements:
  • Proven ability to work 40 hours a week, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours/days based on business needs.
  • Essential attendance at the plant site.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strict attention to detail.
  • Capability to implement and follow work instructions successfully.
  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in a microbiology laboratory setting is preferred.
