Materials Requirements Planner

Are you looking to make a meaningful impact in the life sciences industry while ensuring seamless material flows for critical pharmaceutical manufacturing? Join Lonza in Visp, Switzerland, as a Materials Requirements Planner, where you will bridge the gap between supply planning, procurement, and site operations to guarantee timely material availability on a 6-month contract.

This role is primarily based on site. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards. We offer flexibility to work remotely for no more than 20% of your time. Requests are considered on a case‑by‑case basis, in line with business needs.

What you will get:

  • An agile career and dynamic working culture.

  • An inclusive and ethical workplace.

  • Competitive hourly rate.

Compensation for this role will be determined by the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and relevant knowledge.

What you will do:

  • Ensure the timely availability of production materials to support the master site supply plan.

  • Convert MRP planned orders and requisitions into active Purchase Orders within SAP.

  • Maintain key planning parameters (lot sizes, lead times, safety stocks) in planning systems to maintain plan accuracy.

  • Partner with Supply Planners, Schedulers, and Procurement to resolve material bottlenecks and expedite inbound deliveries.

  • Implement inventory optimization routines, including scrap reduction and stock mobilization.

  • Track, measure, and present material availability KPIs to cross-functional leaders.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) or Supply Planning within the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or CDMO industry.

  • Strong proficiency with SAP (Materials Management / Inventory modules) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to conduct root-cause analysis on material shortages.

  • Fluency in English is required; professional working proficiency in German is a plus.
