The Material Management Analyst is responsible to perform all duties to ensure the performance of the team is on track and tasks are completed.

Responsible for liaising with all key functions to ensure timely updates and analysis to materials.

Execution of key tasks to support Lonza’s inventory and optimization initiatives. Ensure effective management of the material portfolio and its lifecycle control.

What you will do:

  • Support the Material Management Head in coordinating the MRP team, ensuring alignment on key priorities and processes.

  • Generate and oversee material-related KPIs, implementing corrective actions and improvements to enhance material availability visibility.

  • Manage the raw material portfolio of the supply chain in planning systems, including lifecycle control, and execution of large-scale master data updates and monitoring of the created Planning Orders, Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders.

  • Reporting of Purchase Order related activities to external Audit Companies.

  • Provide expertise in the management of specialized material categories.

  • Participates in supply chain development initiatives brining material management expertise. Executes material related projects.

  • SAP & AFI Key User – primary reference for system expertise and user support.

  • Material coverage analysis for Visp site – defines next steps and future strategy (projects supported by Lonza EC Board Level).

  • Core Team Member, key role with analyzing current processes and making a significant contribution to the restructuring the Supply Chain Organization in Visp (MRP & MPL).

  • Responsible for (SMOG) Scrapping Approval Workflows. Initiating, track and trace – ensuring accurate inventory level and timeliness for financial improvements for all 3 business platforms.

  • Preparing the reports for the MRPs to check SMOG items for monthly accurate SMOG submission.

  • Preparing and submitting the monthly file for departments to check SMOG Liability to customer.

  • Core Team Member - Value Stream Mapping Material Management, supporting process optimization and improvement.

  • Maintaining and analyzing safety stock levels for the Visp site to ensure optimal inventory availability/ Replenishment Policy.

  • Supporting the Head of Supply Chain by preparing and analyzing multiple reports for decision-making.

  • Providing cross-departmental support (QC, Plant Logistics, SC) with ad-hoc reports and analysis.

  • Training and onboarding new employees on SAP usage, ensuring knowledge transfer and faster integration.

What we are looking for:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in SCM, Procurement or any relevant field

  • CPIM, APICS Certification would be desired

  • Min. of 5 years’ experience as a Material Requirement Planner or Analyst

  • Experience in SCM, Materials Planning/Scheduling and/or Purchasing

  • Good knowledge of SAP, especially MM and MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint), PowerBI

  • Especially Presentation and Data Analytical skills are required

  • Good communication and presentation skills

  • Fluency in English is required. German desired

  • Strong Teammate and able to work across cross-functional teams
