Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across three continents. While we work in science, there’s no magic formula to how we do it. Our greatest scientific solution is talented people working together, devising ideas that help businesses to help people. In exchange, we let our people own their careers. Their ideas, big and small, genuinely improve the world. And that’s the kind of work we want to be part of.

For the site in Basel, we are seeking a Market and Competitive Intelligence Intern 100% (m/f/d). This job role focuses on providing strategic support to the Market Intelligence (MI) and Competitive Intelligence (CI) Manager in daily activities. The role involves maintaining and enhancing dashboard systems, databases, and analytical models to ensure accurate and efficient decision-making processes.

The position spans across Lonza's entire Pharma & Biotech CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) business, a sector where Lonza is recognized as a leader, continuously expanding its service offerings and capabilities. This role is integral in driving the company's growth by delivering actionable intelligence, ensuring the company stays ahead in the competitive landscape, and identifying opportunities for innovation and expansion in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist in day-to-day activities, including strategic tasks and intelligence gathering to inform decision-making.
  • Collect and analyze data on competitors and markets
  • Maintain and enhance dashboard systems, databases, and analytical models
  • Work with internal stakeholders to align intelligence activities with business objectives and ensure data-driven activities

Key requirements:

  • Strong ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data
  • Proficient in maintaining and working with dashboard systems, databases, and analytical models; knowledge of tools like Excel, Power BI, or similar is essential.
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in science or business & science
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present insights clearly.

Every day, Lonza’s products and services have a positive impact on millions of people. For us, this is not only a great privilege, but also a great responsibility. How we achieve our business results is just as important as the achievements themselves. At Lonza, we respect and protect our people and our environment. Any success we achieve is no success at all if not achieved ethically.

People come to Lonza for the challenge and creativity of solving complex problems and developing new ideas in life sciences. In return, we offer the satisfaction that comes with improving lives all around the world. The satisfaction that comes with making a meaningful difference.
