Manufacturing Technician, III

Lonza Kingston is seeking a manufacturing technician who will work in the assembly and testing of innovative technology such as the Cocoon® Platform, which includes Cocoon instrument and Single-Use Product. Manufacturing of the products should ensure compliance with applicable SOP and under GMP.
This role will require hand-on, precision, focus and care. This position involves working optimally and efficiently under close supervision in a self-directed team environment. Daily tasks include activities such as cleaning, assembly, and system testing of manufacturing equipment, record keeping, sampling, weighing, and packaging. The position is on-site at our Kingston office with a standard work schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Key responsibilities:
Read, understand, and train on applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Follow GMP and GDP principles in all manufacturing activities
Perform routine manufacturing tasks, including:
Pulling and inspecting parts from inventory
Product assembly and packaging following detailed work instructions
Functional testing during production and end-of-line testing
Preparing tools, fixtures, and test equipment for use
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in line with quality standards
Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain and Quality teams
Complete required GMP documentation such as equipment logs, room logs, and work instructions
Attend and complete required training sessions and reporting forms
Enforce to all Health & Safety procedures, including accurate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Identify and report unsafe conditions; implement corrective actions as needed
Support additional duties as assigned beyond routine responsibilities
Key requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent experience is necessary
Previous manufacturing experience is not required, but considered an asset
Shows a sharp focus on detail and precise adherence to guidelines
Comfortable working in a regulated, GMP-compliant environment
Ability to read technical documents and maintain accurate records
Willingness to work in a hands-on, cleanroom environment wearing full PPE (coveralls, scrubs, gloves, safety glasses, hair/beard covers, etc.)
Able to manipulate small parts and assemblies manually
Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 20 kg regularly
Basic digital literacy and moderate computer use required
Strong interpersonal skills: troubleshooting experience is a plus
