Operational Technology Engineer

We are looking for a talented OT Engineer to support the Greenwood site with our lofty and exciting expansion plans and play an instrumental role in the maintenance of current and future systems. This position reports to the Director, Site Engineering & Projects and will help to plan projects and establish the criteria by which project success will be measured.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee general technical processes in an engineering or industrial establishment to ensure optimal performance and operation.
  • Maintenance of current and future systems such as IQS, STAS, GFT Scheduling/Lightboard, etc. 
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, safety policies, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
  • Develop specifications for all systems that are required for each project
  • Provide support primarily in the area of manufacturing (SAP PP/MM) and its integration with other systems such as MES (Manufacturing Execution System)
  • Leads gathering of business requirements by being responsible for the collection, analysis, review, documentation, and communication of business needs and for ensuring proposed solutions meet business requirements.
  • Creates systematic and manual operations procedures in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Perform root cause analysis for system related issues, work with IT and business partners to coordinate and resolve at root cause level
  • Assist in OQ/PQ testing, user training, and documentation when required
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
  • Lead plant tours for customers, special guests/visitors
  • Participate in community events
  • Travel to trade shows, customers, vendors, sister sites as needed  (< 5%) 

Key requirements:

  • BS / BA in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business or related field
  • Significant experience with professional IT application development, business systems analysis and support experience required
  • Significant knowledge and experience in SQL strongly preferred
  • Ability to make sound business decisions under time constraints in a dynamic work environment
  • Demonstrated experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping and data modeling
  • Extensive knowledge in importing data for use in reporting software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flowcharts
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to cooperate with key users at all levels regarding problem resolution and implementation of configuration changes and enhancements to meet business requirements
  • Exposure to common Integration Tools and Transactions (ERP, Automation) using industry preferred tools and technologies (Middleware, JMS, REST Webservices, Camel)
  • Knowledge of common information technology (IT) platforms including VMWare
  • Knowledge about the Automation Industry including OPC
  • Must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong team-based work ethic with a customer focused, service-oriented mindset
