Join Lonza AG as a Manager, Materials Preparation and be part of our ambitious Manufacturing team in Greenwood, SC, USA. This outstanding opportunity allows you to coordinate personnel and equipment, leading all aspects of ensuring the highest quality products for Hard Capsule Manufacturing. Our ongoing growth offers you the chance to create a significant impact while working in an encouraging and dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage all staff and machinery in Material Preparation to uphold the highest product quality
  • Plan and coordinate the departmental budget to ensure maximum profitability within financial guidelines
  • Monitor and manage production indicators daily, weekly, and monthly, implementing activities to boost efficiency
  • Initiate changes and improvements to meet new quality requirements and manage product and process improvement projects
  • Review departmental and plant safety statistics, taking appropriate actions when required
  • Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures, incorporating human resource guidelines
  • Assure that all process and mechanical standards are maintained
  • Develop Process Engineers, Shift Leaders, and Maintenance Technicians, ensuring overall team development
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure business operations run efficiently

Key requirements:
  • BS Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related field required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to lead a large team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite software; SAP experience desired
  • Ability to exercise judgment and make decisions independently
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week, including weekends and holidays, with additional hours as needed
  • 3 years of leadership experience required
  • Travel less than 10%
  • Being present at the plant site is required
