Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across five continents. While we work in science, there’s no magic formula to how we do it. Our greatest scientific solution is talented people working together, devising ideas that help businesses to help people. In exchange, we let our people own their careers. Their ideas, big and small, genuinely improve the world. And that’s the kind of work we want to be part of.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily maintenance of production, packaging, utility, and facility equipment to ensure uptime and compliance.

  • Supervise technicians and contractors; delegate tasks and resolve equipment issues efficiently.

  • Manage preventive and corrective maintenance schedules, ensuring timely execution and documentation.

  • Analyze equipment failures, lead root cause investigations, and implement long-term solutions.

  • Maintain CMMS records, job plans, and reliability data to support consistent, compliant work.

  • Oversee GMP-critical utilities and general facility upkeep, including pest control and contractor services.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to plan maintenance windows and support audits, validations, and change controls.

  • Lead shutdown planning and execution for equipment upgrades, replacements, and infrastructure projects.

  • Manage MRO inventory, spare parts strategy, and vendor relationships to support maintenance needs.

  • Ensure maintenance activities meet cGMP standards and support investigations and CAPAs.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Extensive GMP expertise in pharmaceutical equipment, utilities (e.g., purified water, HVAC), and facility maintenance.

  • Strong leadership in supervising teams, mentoring staff, and driving performance while ensuring safety and compliance.

  • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration and translating technical needs into clear, actionable priorities.

  • Proficient in structured problem-solving, deviation management, and CAPA implementation using tools like 5 Whys and Fishbone.

  • Experienced in audit readiness, documentation accuracy, and maintaining data integrity per 21 CFR Part 11 standards.

Every day, Lonza’s products and services have a positive impact on millions of people. For us, this is not only a great privilege, but also a great responsibility. How we achieve our business results is just as important as the achievements themselves. At Lonza, we respect and protect our people and our environment. Any success we achieve is no success at all if not achieved ethically.

People come to Lonza for the challenge and creativity of solving complex problems and developing new ideas in life sciences. In return, we offer the satisfaction that comes with improving lives all around the world. The satisfaction that comes with making a meaningful difference.
