Intro Summary of the Role-
The Content Operations & SEO Manager exists to ensure website content is published accurately, efficiently, and in a way that supports search relevance (including on‑site search/Solr), conversion, discoverability, and brand consistency across the eCommerce experience. This role owns day‑to‑day CMS operations, including content authoring and publishing, content maintenance, on‑site search relevance (Solr) and SEO governance, and pre‑publish quality controls.
The role operates at a hands‑on specialist/manager level, working cross‑functionally with the Digital team, Marketing, and Campaign Management. The role balances strategic input with executional delivery, supported by clear process ownership, quality control, and cross‑functional coordination. It also provides secondary, backup support for product content, taxonomy, and DAM activities to support team resilience and continuity.
Successful candidates must be able to operate at both a strategic level (identifying search, SEO, and content optimization opportunities) and a tactical level (analyzing data, tuning search relevance, solving problems, and executing improvements).

What You Will Do-
Own on‑site search relevance in SAP Commerce (Solr), including synonym management, boosting rules, query handling, and zero‑result analysis to improve search accuracy and conversion.
Establish and maintain a regular search tuning cadence by reviewing search queries, user behavior, and performance metrics, and implementing iterative relevance improvements in collaboration with technical teams.
Monitor and report on site search performance, including top queries, search engagement, and zero‑result trends, using insights to drive ongoing optimization of search results and supporting content.
Own on‑page SEO governance, including page copy structure, metadata, headings, internal linking, and content standards, to improve organic visibility, relevance, and findability.
Lead technical and structural SEO governance in collaboration with Technology teams, ensuring site architecture, CMS implementations, and internal linking patterns support indexability and search performance.
Partner with Marketing to align SEO priorities and performance goals, using tools such as Google Search Console and analytics insights to guide search‑driven optimizations.
Analyze website and search performance indicators, including user journeys, landing page effectiveness, and search behavior, to recommend practical improvements to content, structure, and relevance.
Provide business input into CMS enhancements, technical SEO requirements, and workflow improvements to ensure platforms and processes support scalable, efficient content and search operations.
Own day‑to‑day CMS operations in SAP Commerce Cloud (SmartEdit), including authoring, editing, scheduling, previewing, quality checking, and
publishing website content across homepage, landing pages, category pages, applications, and campaigns.
Performs minor HTML and markup adjustments within SAP Commerce Cloud SmartEdit components as needed to support content layout, SEO requirements, accessibility, and search readiness, working within established templates and governance standards.
Act as the content quality gate by performing pre‑publish QA checks to validate accuracy, completeness, SEO alignment, search readiness, and adherence to publishing standards prior to release.
Maintain page content, content slots, banners, and evergreen site content to ensure the site remains current, accurate, and free from expired, broken, or inconsistent material.
Manage the content publishing calendar, ensuring changes are delivered on time and aligned with commercial priorities, new product introductions, and brand standards.
Provide cross functional cover for product content, taxonomy, PIM, and DAM activities as needed, assisting with product or category copy updates, asset usage checks, and launch readiness to support team continuity—without primary ownership of these domains.
What We Are Looking For-
Must‑Haves:
SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) experience
SEO Strategy
SAP Commerce Solr experience
SEO experience (technical and on‑page governance)
SAP Commerce CMS / SmartEdit experience, including content authoring and publishing
Experience with CMS / content QA and pre‑publish validation
Nice‑to‑Haves:
Experience in life sciences or biotech industries
Exposure to PIM, product content, taxonomy, or DAM systems as secondary support
Experience with search reporting, relevance tuning cadence, or zero‑result analysis
Working knowledge of digital analytics tools (Google Analytics / Search Console)
