We are seeking a LIMS Configuration Specialist, a key role within our Laboratory Management IT team. This position supports the configuration, enhancement, and ongoing operation of the gLIMS Laboratory Information Management System (LabVantage) — a business‑critical GxP system that enables digital laboratory workflows and operational efficiency across Lonza’s global quality control laboratories.

Job Summary

As a LIMS Configuration Specialist, you will work closely with System Owners to perform configuration, reporting, instrument integration, and validation activities to ensure data integrity and efficiency in laboratory operations. You will maintain and update documentation to ensure compliance with GxP regulatory standards while supporting laboratory workflows through system enhancements and support activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform configuration and interface development for LabVantage LIMS.
• Support instrument integration and reporting activities (Jasper, Crystal Reports).
• Guide validation activities to ensure compliance with GxP, data integrity, and CSV requirements.
• Maintain and update technical documentation, SOPs, and training materials.
• Provide support for system enhancements, troubleshooting, and ongoing operations.
• Collaborate with System Owners, laboratory teams, and IT stakeholders to align system capabilities with business needs.
• Apply ITIL processes to manage incidents, system availability, and service management.

Key Requirements

Domain Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of IT experience with pharma laboratory applications (LIMS, LES, ELN).
• Hands‑on experience with LabVantage LIMS configuration and interface development.
• Software development experience with Java and/or Groovy.
• Experience with reporting technologies such as Jasper or Crystal Reports.
• Strong database & SQL knowledge (MS SQL).
• Understanding of GxP, data integrity, and computer system validation requirements.
• Experience writing and updating technical documentation, SOPs, and training materials.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes.
