Junior Laboratory Technician (QC Spectroscopy)

Are you looking to kickstart your career in quality control while contributing to life-changing medicine? Based in Visp, this fully site-based role puts you at the heart of our QC Spectroscopy team, running essential analytical testing and instrument calibrations in a dynamic lab environment.

This is a fully site‑based role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

What you will do:

  • Perform analytical testing using IR, UV, and NMR spectroscopy to ensure high-quality product release.

  • Support key projects and take ownership of assigned laboratory instruments to ensure operational readiness.

  • Review and approve instrument calibrations and analytical test results.

  • Perform validation, method transfer experiments, and support analytical method development.

  • Conduct investigations into Out of Specification (OOS) results and System Suitability Test (SST) failures under supervision.

  • Identify Out of Expectation (OOE) and Out of Trend (OOT) analytical data to maintain high quality standards.

  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary project teams while building skills toward independent lab management.


What we are looking for:

  • Relevant vocational apprenticeship (e.g., Biology or Chemistry Laboratory Technician), or a  Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific discipline, or equivalent QC lab experience.

  • Professional proficiency in conversational/written English is required; conversational German is a strong advantage.

  • Basic hands-on experience working in a GMP environment and quality assurance systems.

  • Familiarity or foundational knowledge of spectroscopic techniques (IR, UV, and/or NMR).

  • High proficiency in using standard IT systems and lab software.

  • A flexible, meticulous personality with strong initiative, eagerness to learn, and team spirit.
