Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated professional to lead our Microbial Master Cell Banking (MCB) production facility in Visp. This role includes full responsibility for the MCB processes and team, ensuring high-quality generation, characterization, and storage of cell banks. You will play a key role in delivering cell banks on time, aligned with microbial manufacturing schedules, while navigating regulatory requirements and changes.

What you'll do:

• Lead and organize operational MCB activities to support process development and production.

• Coordinate MCB projects in collaboration with project leaders, scientists, and technicians.

• Plan resources in alignment with cross-functional teams such as strain and process development and manufacturing.

• Manage and develop a diverse team of technical experts, scientists, and lab technicians.

• Provide technical evaluation and oversight of new MCB projects.

• Represent MCB during customer and regulatory authority audits.

• Drive operational readiness and ensure equipment is fit for purpose.

• Ensure compliance with current safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

What we are looking for:

• Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related life sciences field.

• Strong understanding of microbial MCB processes and cGMP quality standards.

• Proven leadership and team management experience.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to represent MCB in audits and cross-functional discussions.

• Proficiency in English and German (written and spoken).

This position is based in Visp, Switzerland. For selected candidates, relocation support is available for individuals and their families.
