We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fermentation Plant Lead to join our dynamic pharmaceutical manufacturing team. This role offers the opportunity to lead and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced, cutting-edge environment while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fermentation processes. This position is a day shift role and will involve working on a 12 hour (6am-6pm) rotational (4 on 4 off) shift basis which includes non-negotiable weekend working.

What you will do:

  • Review and optimize new and existing processes, plan plant activities, and ensure all operations run safely, efficiently, and in compliance with defined procedures and deliverables.

  • Proactively troubleshoot operational issues, collaborating within the department and across functions to implement timely and effective solutions.

  • Conduct regular tours of all fermentation areas to ensure proper organization, process control, and high housekeeping standards.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through investigation, identification, and implementation of preventative actions to enhance team and process performance.

  • Foster a positive learning environment by coaching, mentoring, and supporting direct reports to develop both individual and team capabilities.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing supervisory or management role, preferably within the pharmaceutical sector.

  • Hands-on experience in mammalian cell fermentation is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding and experience of current GMP standards and compliance requirements.

  • Demonstrated line management experience, with the ability to motivate, develop, and lead teams effectively.

  • Flexibility to work on a shift pattern, including alternate weekends.
